I attended the University of Connecticut for my bachelor's degree in biology. I also earned a human rights minor and was on the premed track. I have eight years of tutoring experience, and I worked at University of Connecticut as an administrative assistant in the library. I've also found tutored at a clinic, was accepted to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and won an academic award within the Greek community on campus. I started tutoring as a high school student, volunteering to assist elementary and middle school students with various subjects. Over the past three years, my specialties as a tutor have ranged towards sciences and standardized exams including SAT biology, AP biology, SAT chemistry, and AP chemistry. Despite this recent experience, I'm comfortable working with students from the middle school level through the college level and any level of ability. I have also work with students with special situations, including students with learning disabilities, and students with developmental issues. I focus on getting my students motivated and engaged, and I help them organize the plan to reach their goals. I then provide support and encouragement while I explain concepts in ways that resonate with a student. I customize my approach to match the needs of each student that I work with. When I have spare time, I to go on hikes, read, watch movies, travel, and volunteer as an EMT.
