I became a tutor after graduating from Rice University, with honors, with a B.A. degree in the study of women, gender, and sexuality. I also minored in poverty, justice, and human capabilities while attending the school. I was a pre-med student at one time after completing the MCAT. Prior to enrolling in university, I attend Hopkins School, where I completed a number of different honors and AP classes along the way. I feel as though my academic experience has helped me as a tutor, as I am able to help students from middle school to lower level college courses. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and English, although I can also help with the different standardized tests like the MCAT and the SSAT.My tutoring style involves helping students to overcome the stress that they might feel before taking a test by giving them the confidence that they need to keep calm. Timed essays, particularly, can be stressful, so I try to help students to be efficient while finishing them. When I'm not attending classes or tutoring, I like reading, playing music, and volunteering in healthcare settings. I also have a passion for choir, theater, and spending time outdoors.
